Via Algarviana Excellence - 8 days to explore the Algarve by yourself

This is a special program on the Via Algarviana that starts in Alte and ends in Silves. It includes a selection of the best rural accommodation in the region and a special moment at a wine farm where walkers can sample some of their wines over a lovely lunch in the open air.

The walks cross the central Algarve, through the Barrocal and the Serra Algarvia, where you'll enjoy beautiful moments of contact with the region's nature, its rich fauna and flora, as well as its ancestral culture.

Handicrafts, traditional agriculture and popular architecture will all be present along this route.

In Alte or Silves, hikers will also be able to get to know the rich history of these places and appreciate some of their monuments, such as churches, medieval chimneys and even a castle.

The hikes also allow for good moments of isolation in the countryside, where nature is still very much alive. Dozens of species of birds and plants can be seen, including numerous orchids in spring.

This is a trip for those who really enjoy walking, with some of the daily routes climbing to over 15km, and which runs along part of one of the country's most emblematic pedestrian routes: the Via Algarviana.
